Our Story

Demushuwa Property Developers (Pty) Ltd (“Demushuwa”) is a privately-owned Namibian company that was founded in 2009 as a property investment and development company with its core business being the acquisition, development, sale and leasing of immovable property in Namibia. Through its projects Demushuwa is dedicated to providing the best suitable and sustainable solutions for Namibia’s infrastructure needs that not only adds significant value, but also bring significant socio-economic benefits to the Namibian people, hence the mission motto of “creating futures”.

From a geographical point of view, development efforts to date have been primarily focused on the Kleine Kuppe area in Windhoek. This commenced with Demushuwa acquiring a property in the area of approximately 185,000m2, which was with time serviced and expanded to cover a total area in excess of 305,000m2 , making it the largest private commercial property investment in Namibia to date.

The precinct came to be known as “Hilltop Estate” and incorporates lifestyle, retail, offices and medical amenities. To date, developments within the Hilltop Estate include the Grove Mall of Namibia, Lady Pohamba Private Hospital and its extensions, Virgin Active Kleine Kuppe, 1@Steps, Town Lodge, the Steps super-basement, Wild Olive Apartments, MegaCentre, Grove Pedestrian Bridge, LPPH Suites West, Demushuwa Suites and Hilltop Village, which developments collectively exceed N$3 billion in project value.

2012

Demushuwa purchases land from City of Windhoek, erf 1004

Subdivision of erf 1004 to smaller erven, Purchase of land in Tuye Property Developer (Pty) Ltd from City of Windhoek erf 50, Sale of land to Sinco Investments (now Grove Mall), Transfer of Erf 1004 subdivided land to Demushuwa subsidiaries, Chasie Street, Ombika and Frankie Fredericks bulk services and internal bulk service.
2013

Subdivision of erf 50

Transfer of subdivided land to Tuye subsidiaries, Development of road on erf 50 (Bao Park), Sale of Tuye subsidiaries to 3rd parties
2014

Grove Mall Completed

Mega Centre and 1 @ Steps construction commenced, Super basement construction commenced, LPPH Suites West Construction commenced, Wild Olive apartments construction commences, LPPH Hospital construction commenced
2015

Mega Centre is completed & starts trading

1@ Steps is completed and starts trading, LPPH Suites West is completed and all units are sold except for 1 unit, Wild Olive is completed and all of the units are sold on completion, LPPH Hospital construction completed and starts operations.
2016

Super Basement Complete

Super basement erf 1316 to erf 1320 is completed, Demushuwa Suites construction commenced
2017

Demushuwa Suites Completed

Demushuwa Suites completed, 3 out of 9 units sold, Town Lodge construction completed and starts trading
2020

Lady Pohamba Extensions

LPPH Hospital extensions commences, Camelthorn Pod construction commences
2021

Hilltop Village Commences

•Hilltop Village construction commences, Camelthorn Pod completed and starts trading
2022

LPPH Hospital extensions Completed

Completed LPPH Hospital extensions and trading has commenced.
2022

Hilltop Village Completed

Completed LPPH Hospital extensions and trading has commenced.
Putting people before property

Our Team

The company’s board is comprises of four non-executive directors, also being shareholders of the company. This structure allows for a fast and efficient decision making process, making the company well placed to pursue opportunities that may present itself. Likewise, our executive staff compliment is made up of a small but effective tightly-knit team of individuals. Growth is encouraged amongst staff with colleagues being encouraged to learn how to perform various roles within the organisation, notwithstanding their education or background.
